The assessment plan you create for the current assessment cycle is a set of outcomes you assess to determine if your program is functioning well. You choose which outcomes you want to assess for the current cycle based on the "Program Goals & Outcomes" and "Student Learning Goals & Outcomes" you set up in the "Standing Requirements" section of your assessment workspace. Once you have the outcomes to assess, you will choose Evidence/Measures for each outcome. Only include outcomes in the plan you want to assess for that cycle. To create a new assessment plan in Taskstream, please complete the following steps:

  1. Decide which outcomes from your "Standing Requirements" you would like to assess for the current cycle. You do not have to assess every outcome from the "Standing Requirements," every year. However, you do need to assess 1 outcome per program goal and 1 outcome for each student learning goal each year. All your outcomes should be measured at least 2 times in a period of 5 years. If you want to create a new outcome to assess (one that is not already in your Standing Requirements) you must do so under the "Programs Goals & Outcomes" or "Student Learning Goals & Outcomes" areas in your workspace (see this tutorial for adding new outcomes).
  2. Once you are logged into the assessment workspace for your program, click on "Assessment Plan" in the left navigation, under the current assessment cycle area.
  3. In the upper right of the screen, click the "Check Out" button.

  4. On the next screen, you will be asked if you want to "Create New Assessment Plan" or "Copy Existing Plan as Starting Point." Choose "Create New Assessment Plan" if you want to start from scratch or if you would rather copy the previous cycle plan as a starting point, choose "Copy Existing Plan As Starting Point." If copying, please make sure and choose the previous cycle existing plan as your starting point (2016-2017).

  5. If you create a new plan, Taskstream will give you a pop-up confirming that you want to start a plan from scratch. Click "OK."

  6. You will now see an "Evidence/Measures" box in the middle of the screen. Click the "Select Set" button on the right side of the screen, in the "Evidence/Measures" box.

  7. The next screen should say "Outcome Sets - No outcome sets attached." Click on the "Select Existing Set" in the upper right.

  8. The next screen will show your Outcome Sets from previous cycles. Choose the set of outcomes from which you want to create your plan from. The name of your outcomes set should be titled as the name of your unit, or something similar, depending on how sets were title in the past. For example: "MS in Mental Health Counseling (Clinical) Outcome Set." You can preview the set before selecting by clicking the "View Set" link to the right of each set. Once you have found and selected the set you want, click "Continue."

  9. The next screen let's you choose which outcomes from the set you want to use to create your current cycle plan. Click on the checkbox for each desired outcome. Then at the top right of the screen, click "Accept and Return to Plan."

  10. You should now see a list of the outcomes you selected. You can now add the "Evidences/Measures" you plan to use to assess each outcome. You must have an evidence/measure for each outcome you chose to assess. To the right of the first outcome you want to add an evidence/measure for, click on "Add New Evidence/Measure."

  11. Next, fill in the required text fields about your evidence/measure and the measure type/method/level, then click "Apply Changes." You can also import evidence/measures you have used in the past for other outcomes by clicking the "Import Evidence/Measure" button in the upper right of the screen.

  12. You have now completed the evidence/measures for your outcome. Repeat this for each outcome you want to assess (start at step #10 of this tutorial).
  13. Once you have created evidence/measures for all outcomes for the plan, you're all done. In the upper right, click the "Check In" button to finish.
